Having previously designed Comuna in Brisbane City, it only felt natural to continue the journey with the brand’s Newstead location. Building on the success and identity of the original venue, our goal was to create a space that felt familiar yet unique to its new neighbourhood.
Comuna Newstead was designed as a vibrant destination that brings people together through food, connection and atmosphere. Inspired by the warmth and character of a modern hacienda, the space combines earthy materials, handcrafted textures and rich layers of colour to create an environment that feels both energetic and inviting.
From the carefully considered furniture selections to the seamless flow between indoor and outdoor dining areas, every detail was curated to enhance the guest experience. Natural finishes, statement lighting and lush greenery work together to create a relaxed yet sophisticated setting that evolves effortlessly from daytime gatherings to lively evening celebrations.
The result is a hospitality venue with a strong sense of identity—one that captures the spirit of communal dining while celebrating the vibrant character of Newstead.
